Man of Steel (Trailer #4) Review

This final trailer gives the doubters nowhere to run. How anyone doesn’t want to watch this film now is just beyond me and this glorious trailer gives me goosebumps. It is AMAZING!!! I will be watching this film in IMAX, it will be great and it will blow my mind! On my previous review of trailer #3 I confessed my ridiculous excitement for this film, and clearly this trailer doesn’t help, I am losing it right now! The trailer started a little freaky like a found footage horror but then Zod’s voice commands your attention and you will listen! We also get what I am assuming is Zod’s theme music which I like, villains need themes and this one is badass! Oh yeah and everything else! Fighting, heat vision, Faora, then more FIGHTING!!! 14^th June save the date!

Plot:

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? 14. I Have Journeyed Across an Ocean of Stars

Love that line and the intro is creepy. Intimidation tactics are in Zod’s military bag tricks, I also like the sense of immigration with Kal El seeking refuge on Earth and General Zod wanting to take him back to military rule.

13. Non The Mute Kryptonian

Do you remember the big mute guy with Zod in Superman II; yeah well I think that’s him. Could be way off but it would explain a few things, for one why he seems to be doing low level fighting which is unbecoming of a general especially Zod.

12. Faora Part 1

For every human you save we will kill a million more. Oh snap what you going to do now Superman? Cry? Haha so cruel. You maybe be wondering why I have two scenes of her well one she has some good scenes and two I like the actress who was in Pandorum an underrated film.

11. Faora Part 2

I am liking this uniform, it’s unique and has a distinct style of Kryptonian, also her having a cape makes supes having a cape seem more normal. Having shields and armour does raise a question or two though. For example do the kryptonian’s not know to the extent of their invulnerability on Earth or is simple the armour reacting to the attacks?

10. Superman In Space

I do like a little space flight from the man of steel always seems weird having a person without any air just flying about the place. I have no idea what he’s doing, maybe escaping Zod’s ship and heading back to earth to save the day. Love that still though.

9. General Zod’s Men

From the look of this I am guessing this is on Krypton not Earth, too many at his side to be his invasion of Earth. My guess would be that this is his rebellion or a war of some kind during the early shots of krypton in the film.

8. Non Attacking a Warthog Fighter Jet

Boom! That’s what we need some explosive ass kicking! Warthogs are essentially the tanks of the sky and I have always wondered why they are never seen in these films.

7. Who’s That Poor Guy?

From what I can tell he’s Kryptonian and died in a battle what with the gun and all, what I can’t see is why Zod seems shocked to find him. My theory is that he has returned from prison or exile or whatever and has found Krypton.

6. Skull Mountain

And People thought this film would be dark. If there was one scene I am unsure about in this film it would be this. Skulls and Superman doesn’t really mix with me, in fact it’s so out of place I am assuming it’s a nightmare or vision. Got to admit that this doesn’t help the claims it’s not a dark film.

5. Smallville Under Attack

Here Clark (oops spoiler) must defend his home town from Zod’s two followers Non who is about to pummel Kal El into the ground and Faora standing to the right of him. Damn the fighting in this looks good!

4. Zod Bursting A Blood Vessel

Never before have I seen the Krypton heat vision appear more ferocious and so damn cool! The fight scenes should be glorious and massively destructive.

3. Superman’s Heat Vision

Am pretty happy with the next few stills, blink and you’d miss them but luckily for you I don’t blink Mwahahaha. I don’t know why but they have never given Superman kick ass heat vision, but look at that still I got, you can clearly see the raw power involved.

2. And He’s Out of Here

Yes I believe that is Zod hitting Superman with a building girder and yes this will be a great fight scene. This is what was missing from Superman Returns.

1. Superman Flying Through a Building

Something about this scene just feels quintessentially superman, and Snyder has picked a great way to follow his flight. The camera is fixed on superman whilst the building and debris flows around him. I seriously can’t wait for this film!
