Box Office Predictions (08-10th Nov) Results
Real shocking results this weekend. Thor The Dark World won the weekend! With practically no competition yeah that obviously happened and really this is why I don’t do the prediction past summer because even I am bored. Go watch some movies!
Returning Films
Can’t forget about are returning films as well. Ender’s Game may have won last weekend but wow did this drop like a led brick this weekend, 62% drop to $10M. Bad Grandpa may have dropped more than I thought but still came up 2nd place next to Thor 2. Gravity is still holding on and within hugging distance to Ender’s Game.

New Films
Thor: The Dark World
Analysis:
Slightly under what some predicted but still an excellent result for Thor 2, $86M this weekend. That number is a 31% jump on Thor 1 (win) granted Iron Man 3 gave a 36% jump but were not going to compare this too much. Now I thought this film would get more of an female audience than most superhero films alas the audience was 62% male. Thor smash! Internationally though this film is smashing its past numers and has nearly made its international earnings in two weeks.

Well that’s my views. Now what do you think about this weekend and its new releases?
I was disappointed with Thor 1 so I wouldn’t think 2 would do so good. Good call, a lot of peeps are saying this one is excellent and should have been the first, so I want to see it now.

Yeah, we’re really getting into Oscar nominee territory here. My guess is ’12 Years a Slave,’ ‘Enough Said,’ and ‘Blue is the Warmest Color’ will be getting some important nods soon.

I’m happy for Thor 2, which looks terrific and will be the next film I see. But Ender’s Game, Ender’s Game, what happened? It’s my favorite sci-fi novel, and the film was better and MUCH more faithful than I could have hoped for. It deserves to be seen, but with an overcrowded season and a bad marketing campaign, I guess it never stood a chance. Here’s hoping it’s appreciated in time.

The marketing has been terrible but that’s the luck of the draw. Hopefully people will see it on DVD 😀

Nice numbers!!! You’re pretty accurate here, I am surprised to see Free Birds even doing this well. I’ve heard nothing but crap things about it. Great to see Gravity still. . .clinging on to dear life. 🙂

I don’t even know what Free Birds is haha 😀

I think I predicted between $70 to $80 right, so we’re both off by about $5 mil. That’s a pretty good number, though of course, hard to beat Iron Man’s stellar box office prowess!

Yeah good numbers, what we should expect from marvel from here out 😀

Yeah, high five! I actually thought you might’ve been closer in the numbers given how popular it has been internationally.
