Mini Trailer Reviews
Trailers appear to be coming out of the woodwork recently so I thought I would review a few of them all in one post because 1 I am lazy and 2 its Christmas time so I am busy. I am afraid there will be no teaser trailers so don’t look for the Godzilla, Interstellar, or Planet of the Apes in this post, I liked all three but without more content I really can’t pass my judgement’s. Hope you enjoy the mini reviews and I will get back to the full ones after the holidays. Enjoy the reviews and please tell me your initial reactions to these new trailers, more so if you disagree.
Transcendence (Trailer #1) Review
This trailer kind of loses me a little, I get the Lawn Mower Man type of story but then near the end it gets massively convoluted. It might simply be too complex to explain in a trailer without spoiling the film but as a trailer it makes no sense. I will probably go see this, got plenty of science fiction material to go off and its very relevant to the interconnected world we now live in.

3 Days To Kill (Trailer #1) Review
Might be crazy but I quite like the look of this one, it’s like a mix of Taken and Crank but with a bit of humour. It could be quite good, the cast is interesting especially Kevin Costner looks like he should have been doing this for the past couple of years rather than whatever the hell he was doing, and Amber Heard is well hot damn describes her pretty well. Looking forward to this and I hope I am right about it.

Best Part: “ello, I am iguido”

Sabotage (Trailer #2) Review
As far as Arnold goes I would watch anything with him in and I think I have, but the film actually looks quite good. The cast is really interesting as most them are pretty known but look unrecognizable in this film. Sam Worthington looks totally different and I like that they look like completely different people because I can get fooled into their characters better. Like me a bit of and End of Watch was good so I say bring it on.

Best Part: “Their watching us” It’s not Predator Arnold.

22 Jump Street (Red Band Trailer #1) Review
The first film was such a fantastic surprise as a comedy and the trailer puts my doubts to rest for the most part about a sequel. I mainly say that this doesn’t bother me because in the trailer they just don’t stop mocking the idea of this being a sequel. Ice Cube gets more time which is great and the duo seem to have hit their stride in the characters Jenko & Schmidt. I am definitely going to see and I hope you all see it too.

Best Part: “We Jump Street. And we going to jump in yo ass.”

How To Train Your Dragon 2 (Trailer #1) Review
This is another film that I loved and am praying the sequel is equally good. The first was great and one of my favourite animated films of past 10 years. Loved the teaser trailer they released as well, but I love full length ones better. Didn’t really know where they’d take this sequel but the introduction of Hiccup’s mother and a new Viking threat has my attention. I am hoping for some epic fun from the DreamWorks team.

Best Part: “Dragons and Vikings, enemies again”

There’s something comforting seeing Schwarzenegger back in front of a movie camera even if he is making mediocre movies. I can’t help but want to check out anything he’s in.
Not sure about the Costner film, but maybe it’ll be better than the trailer which didn’t impress me.

I have actually watched all of Schwarzenegger films, only figured that out recently haha yay he’s in more films 😀

There’s something so misleading about Trailers; I mean, there are some wonderful films which have dull and unconvincing trailers, and some truly awful ones which have gripping and exciting trails. Good analysis here though.

Nice mini reviews Tim! There are sooo many trailers out this past week so it’s wise to combine them. Hey I like the look of 3 Days To Kill too, nice to see Costner back in action hero mode. He still looks pretty darn good, too! I think he must’ve taken advice from Liam Neeson but can’t say I blame him 😉
As for HTTYD 2. I’m a bit skeptical that it goes to 300 mode all of a sudden, but I LOVED the first movie and the two main characters Hiccup & Toothless, so I’ll definitely still watch it.

Thanks Ruth, lot of trailers and so little time 😀
Now Ruth 300 is the best mode to jump to, maybe the best!

I wonder if it’s Butler’s idea to do this war-theme, ahah. Well I guess when you’ve got Leonidas himself as Hiccup’s dad, there’s bound to be madness 😀

Wouldn’t surprise me Ruth haha 😀

I can imagine I’ll watch Transcendence and get completely confused as to what the hell is going on but then say I liked it anyway. xxx

Ok this is some pretty good-looking stuff right here. My thoughts per trailer: 1) Transcendence simply looks amazing, I like Depp and he looks like he’s finally toning down his comedic tones a bit even though still immersed in a strange character; 2) 3 Days to Kill. . . you have sold me on Amber Heard alone :D, even though I doubt this film will be much good; 3) Sabotage, I have to admit this looks like a nice return to serious form for Arnie and I’m pretty stoked about that; 4) 22 Jump Street does look legit, and I’m surprised i haven’t been bothered to check out the trailer until now, but man that looks hilarious; 5) How to Train Your Dragon 2. . ..meh. lol 😀

Hey man, I’ve only watched one of these new trailer because it was the only one I checked and that was 22 Jump Street. Liked the first film, this one looks like more of the same and I’m down with that. I may check out the other trailers, but besides 22 Jump Street & Sabotage I’m not really interested in the others.
Also have you seen the Interstellar or Dawn of the Planet of the Apes teaser trailers yet? Love to hear your thoughts on those.

No interest in how to train your dragon?
Loved Jump street and really looking forward to the sequel after that trailer 😀
Ok I will tell you what I thought of Interstellar and Apes. Interstellar was nothing to talk about, it showed nothing and so it meant nothing too me. Excited about the film but the trailer is nothing.
Apes looks really interesting though, the future looks dark and Caesars lot look mean, should be good and Oldman rules 😀

Still haven’t seen the first film, never was interested when it came out because I was in a not so happy place with Dreamworks at the time, but I’ve heard it was good so I’m totally gonna watch it some day.
Oh and thanks for your thoughts on the other trailers. 😛
