Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (Trailer #2) Review
I know this review is a bit late but this had to be reviewed because it looks amazing. I didn’t review the first trailer because I viewed it more as a teaser, this however is the real deal. Wow I mean who thought an apes film could be made this seriously, I mean this looks brilliant. Andy Serkis is bringing Ceaser to life and giving him real presence. The cast looks strong and the plot sounds fascinating. The themes and music also impress me. I cannot wait for this film, its easily one of my most anticipated of the year. Enjoy the review and please tell me your initial reactions to this new trailer, more so if you disagree.

My Score: A
Release date: 17th July 2014
Plot:
A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

What I liked
#8. The Apes Home
This looks fantastic. It’s like a mix between a natural ape home and some complex building structures which very cleverly shows the ape and their new smarts at play. Or I am reading into this way too much.
–
#7. Apes on Horses
Apes + Horses = Awesome. Also is that a baby? Aww. I would like to know how they got the horses and learned to ride them, seems like a leap but I am sure it will be explained or not it’s not like it’s a big deal.
–
#6. Laying Blame
It’s a fact that is sometimes missing from plague dystopias. Most people do not understand the plague or how it spread and as a result they blindly accuse whoever fits the title of them instead of us. I think his view point is very authentic of what real accusations and wanting justice whether it is right or wrong.
–
#5. Ruins of the Old World
Whilst we are on the authentic nature of this dystopian future created in this film, this shot shows a lot of history and ideas of the survivors. I like the little HSN1 chicken and Pig version haha.
–
#4. Gary Oldman
What I like about his character is that he truly believes that he is in the right, he only sees the apes as an obstacle to human survival and ultimately that will be his downfall. Can’t wait for some more of his dialogue.
–
#3. The Accused?
Jason Clarke seems to be playing the negotiator between the two races, the man between apes and humanity. I think when their peace breaks that this man will be put in the middle, just hope he survives.
–
#2. The Fall of Man
Well I think it’s safe to say we don’t win. I still struggle to see how we could lose a fight against the apes but I am sure they will show us how. Wonder what the next film will be about.
–
#1. Ready for War!
COOL!!! They look like mean sons of bitches in that war paint. I cannot wait for the showdown!

What I Didn’t Like
- Not a lot of problems with this. Pretty perfect, hope I can say the same about the film.

New Poster

I really want this to be the summer blockbuster of the year.

In terms of reviews it may very well be 😀

I must say it looks pretty good. I didn’t like ‘Rise’ because it was so damn G-rated – a bunch of non-violent apes making an escape. To answer your question on #7, I imagine the same way humans learned to ride them. There’s still plenty of wild horses in the mid-west 🙂

You didn’t like Rise? Well am sure some human killing will be happening this time around 😀

I want to know where James Franco is. The man put himself on the line when nobody wanted another Planet of the Apes movie and made it a success. They just kill him off? I don’t get it. I don’t like it.
LikeLike
Well, Franco wasn’t interested in continuing the character because it wouldn’t work with the story. As to were he is, the character dies from the virus as he was one of the first exposed to it.

I want to see it too but it’s not here yet. I like the first one a lot and looking forward to see this second one
