The Guest (2014) Mini Review

Here comes my mini review, much easier doing these. The Guest is currently out on VOD, it’s a really good 80’s thriller film but was made this year, and I love it. Adam Wingard the director of this film is definitely on a roll. I am two for two on his films. You’re Next and now this little gem. I will be looking out for your future films.

I’ll go into more detail below but give it a try, got trailers and images below. Check it all out and give me a like and a comment at the end.

I had a ridiculously good time watching this, its creepy, thrilling, the music is great and the action is spectacular for such a small film. Now let’s talk the cast. I really liked this cast, from the kids who normally annoy me to the main character who could have been awful. I thought they were all great, they played their part and Dan Stevens (British) played the role with both charm and a subtle creepiness. You know what I think helped this film? The length is only 99 minutes so the story progresses with a great pace, very rare in most recent films.

Trailer:

Spoilers!

My favourite scene would have to be either the Bar fight scene or the massive shoot out at the house. The action in this film is so fun and the music mixes perfectly with every scene.

Glad to see you enjoyed this one! The film is a slick and fast-paced thriller and packed with so many laughs thanks to a knowing blackly comic script and a set of great actors who play everything perfectly!
