Fall TV 2013 Part 4 Review
It’s simple I watch a lot TV and movies and well anything on a screen. So summer ending is a blow, big blockbusters gone (sad). But TV shows are back (Yay) and because it is fall we get a bunch of new ones for me to judge and ridicule Mwahahaha! This week I am looking at some of my favourite TV shows from year and just one new entry. The way I am reviewing the shows is based off the shows first three episodes because that’s how long I watch a show before I decide to keep watching a new show or drop it like led brick. This is the last addition for now and I expect to come back for these TV reviews in the cold, cold winter. So here come my views, if you think there is a show I am not watching that I should, please bring it up because I am always looking for suggestions.

Jurassic Park 3D (2013) Review
Easily one of the best films of my childhood and this past weekend I got to see it again in IMAX 3D making me one happy customer. The film is just as great as ever and as I was only 0.4 when this was in theatre’s I never saw it on the big screen and now seeing it in the biggest screen there is I had a real blast. The visuals have aged really well and I did fear an IMAX screen may show more flaws but they did a great job converting the film. The story is a classic now and will always be well remembered for its great story telling and thrilling adventure from start to end. The Characters and dialogue are so memorable and as I always say I like to walk out of a film screening quoting everything! And that’s what you will be doing if you go see it again. I’ll go into much more detail below but for now bookmark this if you are waiting to see the film (WHO?!), leave any comments below; if you have seen the film I will look forward to hearing your thoughts.
“If I may… Um, I’ll tell you the problem with the scientific power that you’re using here, it didn’t require any discipline to attain it. You read what others had done and you took the next step. You didn’t earn the knowledge for yourselves, so you don’t take any responsibility for it. You stood on the shoulders of geniuses to accomplish something as fast as you could, and before you even knew what you had, you patented it, and packaged it, and slapped it on a plastic lunchbox, and now you’re selling it!”
2015 Or The Year Of The Blockbuster!
2015 could also be named the year of the sequel or of the NERD! With the recent news from Comic-Con of the Batman/Superman film being released in 2015 I thought it was time I wrote about the big one! Each time I tried to write about it new films got announced but I cannot see more films coming out so here we are. I have listed 18 MASSIVE blockbuster films coming out in 2015 ALONE and what’s scary is that I think I have actually forgotten some. I will be going through each of the massive films with some information on each and my thoughts, so read on.
Pacific Rim (2013) Review
Guillermo del Toro you glorious bastard! I walked into this film with high expectations and I mean really high expectations and yet somehow I still got more than I hoped for. This film wasn’t just giant monsters crashing against giant robots (which would have been enough for me) it had real characters and real emotions which make you care about them and that is incredibly important. The visuals go without saying but am saying it anyway, they were so EPIC in both scale and quality. The story works as well and I knew if Del Toro was involved it wouldn’t just be another mindless blockbuster, this film had intelligence and a lot of passion behind it. I didn’t expect this walking in but this is the first film I couldn’t find a flaw in this year. I’ll go into much more detail below but for now bookmark this if you are waiting to see the film, leave any comments below, if you have seen the film then check out the spoiler sections and I will look forward to hearing everyone’s thoughts.
“Today at the edge of our hope, at the end of our time. We have chosen to believe in each other! Today we face the monsters that are at our door, today we are cancelling the apocalypse!”
Box Office Predictions (21-23rd June) Results
Wow I was so off this week, my predictions were terrible. However it’s been a great weekend for the studios, cinema profits in decline my ass. Monsters University took the weekend with a stellar taking over the weekend. However Pixar’s take wasn’t shocking at all, what was shocking is Brad Pitts War on Zombies which took an unbelievable second place. Man of Steel failed to fly above the new comers but hardly bombed with a respectable take in third place. Go watch some movies and let’s look at the breakdowns.
World War Z (2013) Review
World War Z is nothing special but it’s alright and whilst I won’t be seeing it again I don’t regret seeing it today. The story is the weakest part but the characters and acting was pretty good, some moments even made me laugh, sadly this was not on purpose and I nearly cried of laughter. Some warnings going into this film are that this isn’t a horror film nor is it an outbreak film, it feels more like an action thriller that happens to feature Zombie esq people (They shouldn’t run or climb). Anyway this review will not be a happy ordeal and I plan to put a few spoilers around the place so watch out for them.

Box Office Predictions (21-23rd June)
Another week of new releases and these won’t be any easier, let’s hope I get lucky and make some good predictions. This weekend we have two releases, first is Monsters University a highly anticipated sequel and second is World War Z a new Zombie film starring Brad Pitt. But we also have Man of Steel fighting to keep his high flying position at number one. Will Pixar take the win? Will World War Z shock us all or will Man of Steel keep the high ground? Go watch some movies and let’s look at the breakdowns.
Europa Report (Trailer #1) Review
I don’t usually review trailers for straight to DVD films but this looked interesting and somebody asked me to review it, can’t remember who so sorry about that but here my review. Right from the get go I like the feel, it’s very realistic and grounded with what looks like a slightly futuristic look at space exploration. The idea of physically looking for signs of extra-terrestrial life intrigues me and from what I see they find something, is it good? Nope because that would be a boring film and this looks thrilling. The film has a surprisingly big name Sharto Copley! The guy can’t get enough of aliens and sci fi so he joins the smaller films as well. Love this comment on the trailer “Those damn prawns won’t leave Wikus alone!” kevinbrueck.
