San Andreas (2015) Mini Review
Genuinely liked this more than I’d thought I would. Lot of action, great visuals and Dwayne was on point leading this film, come a long way since Scorpion King. The film had endless clichés but it didn’t enrage me as much as it normally does, my reasoning will be explained later. It has been a while since I’ve seen a good disaster film and this was good. I’ll go into more detail below but give it a try, got trailers and images below. Check it all out and give me a like and a comment at the end.
“That’s not the first time I landed on second base.” – HAHAHAHAHAHA!
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) Review
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is the most comic book a superhero film has ever been and for a superhero like Spider-Man that is really impressive. Special kudos to Mark Webb and Andrew Garfield for ripping this character straight off the page. Now don’t get me wrong I loved the film but not everyone will, if your first experience with spider man was the last film series and not the comics then parts will be jarring but spider-man fans will love the lighter, funnier and quipier spider-man than they have been given in the past. The story is more focused in the sequel as it tries to answer old questions and raises new ones going forward into the franchise. The visuals are great and even though I was a little scared at some of the CGI in the trailers believe me the final product is spectacular. Mark Webb has clearly become comfortable with his new spider-man world and I cannot wait to see what he does next. SINISTER SIX! I’ll go into much more detail below but for now bookmark this if you are waiting to see the film, leave any comments below, if you have seen the film then check out the spoiler sections and I will look forward to hearing everyone’s thoughts.
“Soon everyone in this city will know how it is to live in my world. A world without power, without mercy, a world without Spider-Man. They will see me for who I truly am. I’m Electro.”
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (Trailer #1) Review
Wow was not expecting that, at all. It’s looking very interesting and whilst I have no idea what the final product will deliver I am very interested in this film. Watched the trailer a few times now and my only thought is wow Sony is REALLY going for it! Insane amount of content in this film and there is a lot of stuff I like, and the usual worries I get. We see Rhino, Electro, Green Goblin or Hob Goblin? And easily my favourite scene showing the super tech for the sinister six. Sinister Six! And this is only the trailer for the second film. So yeah I like what I see so far and whether Sony’s strategy of going big or going home works out at least it’s a really big change in the normal formula of superhero films. Come on Webb show us something new. Spiderman, Spiderman does whatever a spider can. Enjoy the review and please tell me your initial reactions to this new trailer, more so if you disagree.

Box Office Predictions (19-21st July) Results
Interesting weekend and one of my closest predictions to date, must be getting good. However Pacific Rim dropped more than 57% so expect a ridiculous hissy fit, am talking Dredd level fit. Grown Ups 2 $20M!!! Dafuq! But the four releases didn’t do to great considering the box office dropped compared to last year, sadly this could become more frequent if studios keep pushing more releases on the same weekend. I mean really four brand new films in one weekend which also has to compete with last weekend’s releases. Look on for my analysis and go out to see some films. Please go see Pacific Rim! PLEASE!!!
Box Office Predictions (19-21st July)
Guess what am back to…PREDICTIONS!!! But first I have to issue my deep disappointment of Pacific Rims box office last weekend. The US has let me down and hopefully the international markets can save this wonderful film. Also if you haven’t seen it yet please go out this weekend so you don’t have to witness another of my Dredd breakdowns! Grown Ups 2 are F*CKING kidding me! Onto less ranting topics let’s talk about the FOUR new wide releases this weekend. We have Turbo the animated racing film about snails, The Conjuring a new horror film with excellent reviews, R.I.P.D. a comic book adaptation of what is essential MIB with ghosts and lastly Red 2 the sequel to a successful action film about not so retired CIA agents. Look on for my analysis and go out to see some films. Please go see Pacific Rim! PLEASE!!!
